- Electrical construction services (surface and underground) for the new American Rock Salt underground salt mine in Livingston County, NY.
- Prime electrical contractor for the construction of the 1500 bed Upstate Maximum Security Correctional Facility in Franklin County, NY, as well as 6 other major prison facilities each completed in nine months or less.
- PCB transformer and high voltage switchgear replacement - State University of New York at Alfred.
- General Contractor for the construction of a natural gas pipeline pumping station and associated electrical substation in Buffalo, NY.
- In 1980, O'Connnell Electric was selected as the prime electrical contractor for the construction of the Lake Placid Winter Olympics facilities, including White Face Mountain.
- Photographic paper mill renovation and upgrade - Kodak Park, Rochester, NY.
- Unity Health Care Systems - multi-hospital renovations and new additions.
- General Contractor for a new electrical substation for Massena Electric.
- Photonics Manufacturing Factory for Corning Inc.
- Kodak Janus Project - Over 200 electricians on site.
- In-pavement runway/taxiway lights and upgrades to meet FAA standards at the Greater Rochester International Airport as well as various FAA upgrades at regional airports
- Prime electrical contractor for Turning Stone Casino Resort - high rise hotel, wintergarden and event center (photo below).
- Electrical subcontractor for the Stutson Street Bridge Replacement Project, a 67 meter double leaf bascule movable bridge over the Genesee River Navigation Channel. The O'Connell Project Foreman, Tom Zielke, received a craftsmanship award from the Rochester Builder's Exchange for this project.
