A Legacy of Leadership Continues

Tom Parkes and Susan Parkes-McNally, who have served as CEO and Executive Vice President of Human Resources respectively, are transitioning from their day-to-day roles. Their leadership has been instrumental in shaping O’Connell Electric’s culture and success. Both will continue to serve on the Board of Directors, Tom as Co-Chairman and Susan as Secretary, where they will provide strategic oversight and mentorship to the new leadership team.

Michael Parkes Named Chief Executive Officer

Michael Parkes, a fifth-generation electrical industry leader in the Parkes family, has been appointed CEO. With over 20 years of industry experience and a background in electrical engineering, Michael brings a unique blend of technical expertise and strategic vision. Since joining O’Connell Electric in 2010, he has led the Utility Services Group, served as Vice President, and most recently, as President and COO.

As CEO, Michael will oversee all aspects of the company’s operations, financial performance, and long-term strategy. He is committed to driving innovation, expanding service capabilities, and strengthening the company’s position as a leader in the electrical construction industry.

Dave Emmi Promoted to Executive Vice President of Operations

Dave Emmi, a seasoned leader with a proven track record in utility-scale power and infrastructure, has been promoted to EVP of Operations. Dave will lead the company’s operational strategy, focusing on efficiency, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement. His leadership will be key in expanding O’Connell’s geographic footprint and enhancing service delivery across all business units.

With a background in construction law and years of experience as General Counsel, Tim Boldt steps into the role of CAO. He will oversee legal affairs, HR, payroll, and safety, ensuring alignment between administrative and operational teams. Tim will also play a central role in contract negotiations, risk management, and strategic planning.

New Vice Presidents Strengthen Senior Leadership

Robert Miller, Vice President of Construction, brings over two decades of hands-on experience in large scale electrical projects and team leadership.  Rob is tasked to lead project management teams, unify construction operations across all service regions, and drive recruitment and talent development.

Phillip Matthews, Vice President of Operations Support, will oversee fabrication, procurement, and construction services. With a strong track record in managing fabrication and procurement workflows, Phil is well-positioned to lead the company’s efforts in integrating advanced technologies that enhance safety, efficiency, and quality across all project phases.
