
O’Connell Electric’s CEO, Michael Parkes, recently joined a panel of energy and construction experts. The event was the Locate Finger Lakes Energy Infrastructure Summit, held on December 1st in Geneva, NY.
Hosted at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, the summit focused on addressing challenges facing the region’s electric grid and how they affect economic development.
Regional Industry Leaders Discusses Grid Modernization
Michael contributed to an important panel discussion. He shared the stage with other industry leaders to explore solutions for the region’s energy needs.

Mike Davis of IBEW Local 840 moderated the discussion. Together, the experts looked at the technical limits of the current grid. They also proposed actionable steps to modernize the energy infrastructure.
