December 2025. Victor, NY – O’Connell Electric Company has successfully finished its participation in Sunnking’s 2025 fundraising campaigns. These campaigns included e-Scrap for Camp and Recycle for Ronald.
The initiative ran through the summer of 2025. It rallied employees across multiple office locations to recycle electronic waste responsibly. As a result, the team made a significant impact on both the environment and local charities.
A Massive Environmental Impact
Our workforce put in a tremendous collective effort. Together, O’Connell Electric collected and diverted a total of 5,565 pounds of electronics from landfills.
This contribution was part of a wider regional effort. In total, the program generated a donation of $9,638.34.

Supporting Local Families
The proceeds from this event directly benefit two incredible non-profit organizations.
First, the funds support Camp Good Days & Special Times. This organization dedicates itself to improving the quality of life for children, adults, and families touched by cancer.
Second, the donations help The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western New York. They provide a “home away from home” for families of seriously ill children. By recycling old electronics, we help fund essential services for these families in our region.
Sustainable Partnership with Sunnking
O’Connell Electric partnered with Sunnking Sustainable Solutions to ensure the best results. This partnership guaranteed that recycled devices were processed securely and sustainably.
We used our various offices as collection points. Employees dropped off unused or broken electronics, such as:
- Computers
- Monitors
- Small appliances
- Accessories
Sunnking is an R2v3 certified recycler. Therefore, they follow strict environmental and data security standards. This ensures hazardous materials stay out of the waste stream. Furthermore, it allows them to recover valuable resources efficiently.
