O’Connell on Safety

At O’Connell, safety is always job one.  Safety management, education, and training exist at every level of the company and for each project. We are known as being leaders for change, affecting the safety culture within the electrical construction industry as a whole as well as at individual job sites.

O’Connell Electric is committed to the safety and well-being of our employees and protecting the property and facilities of our clients as well as the community and environment at large.

We value our role as a leader within our industry for advancement and continuous improvement in safety and work practices. We are dedicated to sustaining our internal safety culture as we continue to enhance our overall risk management philosophy.

Over the last decade we have committed to re-defining our focus on safety, growing our safety team and taking a human performance approach to safety, all while still relying on leading and lagging indicators to measure our progress and strides.

The well-being of our employees and subcontractors has moved us to spend more time, money and resources on safety. Partnering with private and utility customers along with our engagement in the National Electrical Contractors Association and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers has also helped us enhance our program.
